She had purple eyes. There were certain colors that she couldn't see and the world was a less congested place for her. She also had the powers of turning an object invisible for her eyes and thereby, eliminating the object. She had eliminated, for instance, pumpkins, crows, three whole men and a caterpillar.

One day, she met a sage who told her - "Growing up is adapting to the things we'd like to eliminate."

She felt bad and decided she wouldn't be eliminating things from then on. But suppressing your greatest powers is equivalent to holding within yourself a darkly cursed premonition. Soon she was on the verge of insanity.

At last, one day she murmured - "My powers don't suit me. I could neither use them nor put them to rest. I'll never be a simple girl. This world doesn't suit me."

After the world was eliminated, she started adjusting to the ensuing grey darkness.

"it seems to me most strange that men should fear, seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come."

You always write the most beautiful, intriguing pieces. I envy your talent with a passion.

Just kiss me once in the snow, I swear it never gets old.

I asked for an umbrella and you took away the rain.

I can't say that this story is encompasses by solipsism; no, a whole different sort of thing--one that relies completely on perception.

The quote of the sage is an enlightening truth for the few who would wish to understand it. Stop running from your problems. Stop dwelling over things you may know will be bad--just stop and be happy. . .stop and take in what must be taken in, regardless of pain or pleasure, and develop wisdom all the same.

I do not like the protagonist in this piece. She is an ugly image of myself at times, and it's hard not to think that this piece is your little message to me.

The other reason I don't like her, however, is that she is hopelessly ignorant and lost in a world of total narcissism. It's disgusting, almost. She is a person I would like to confront and just. . .just slap. Slap as hard as possible. Meh.

An extremely good piece, Sir. It's nice to see you're still writing.

Salaam~

Thanks for that wonderful review.

In many of my pieces, the little messages are always hidden. In my writing I never show much bias towards my own beliefs. Therefore, the only the events follow and the not the underlying philosophy dragging their tails behind them.

The sage and the girl are real characters in many ways.

Smile.

Happily residing in a dimension of pure chaos

I somehow get the notion that this is a spoilt little girl who wants her own way and perceiving it to be so. So much so that in the end, she goes even to the extent of making herself blind because she doesn't like the world, hence pretending it doesn't exist.
:iconclownscape:
Solipcism is one of the ways in which this story could be interpreted. Thanks for reading this.

Smile.
